ILAG at the 72nd Spring Conference of the Society for Industrial Engineering

What an event: the 72nd Spring Conference of the Society for Ergonomics (GfA) in Kassel, with around 400 participants, two doctoral student workshops, eight workshops, and 60 presentation sessions featuring over 200 presentations. A wealth of ergonomics-related insights, inspiring new connections, and a reunion with valued acquaintances and friends from the ergonomics community, with whom we could discuss and process all these impressions together. Pictured (from left): Dr. Adjan Hansen-Ampah, Vivien Pütz, Florian Berlin, Dr. Andrea Altepost, Dr. Michael Bau, Simone John—who has been the manager of the GfA office for 25 years now—Prof. Dr. Sibylle Olbert-Bock, Milo Reuter.

The ILAG featured three presentations on the ERTRAG project. During the session on the EuKoNet funding line—which was also attended by Mr. Djaloeis from the Project Management Agency in Karlsruhe—Dr. Michael Bau provided information on the concept and results of the resource and workload analyses. Dr. Andrea Altepost illustrated the development of a phased approach for work system tests as “pop-up” real-world laboratories for the iterative design and evaluation of work systems. For the “Participation Map”—with lead author Prof. Dr. Sibylle Olbert-Bock, Director of the Institute for Human Resource Management and Organization (PMO) at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland in Olten, ILAG presented a classification of the 5G IndustrieStadtpark Troisdorf and ERTRAG projects based on selected systematization criteria for participatory approaches in the work context. Finally, a fourth presentation focused on the status of the KlimaResist project, which works with companies and their employees in the construction and related trades to develop and test customized concepts for effective heat and climate protection in outdoor workplaces.
